It will be the first time the annual RCO Christmas Matinee has ever been streamed live, and we achieve one of our major goals by bringing such a wonderful classical music concert to an even broader public. We are proud to be the RCO's Internet media partner of choice for this event."

Under the baton of renowned chief conductor Mariss Jansons, this year's concert features guest vocalist Latvian mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca: Grammy nominee and one of the hottest European stars of Opera. For the past three years Garanca has wowed audiences and critics alike with her vibrant, articulate and technically unimpeachable performances with many of the world's best orchestras: from the New York Metropolitan Opera to the Berliner Philharmoniker.
The program includes opera overtures from Mascagni, Verdi, and a Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra premiere: the Prelude 'La Revoltosa' from Chapi. Garanca will perform arias from Mozart, Rossini and Bizet.
The RCO, recently nominated as the 'world's greatest orchestra', by leading UK classical music magazine Gramophone, began the event in 1975 under the baton of chief conductor Bernard Haitink. Today, the event is one of the highlights of the European classical music calendar.
Tickets for the prestigious classical music event, priced only Euro 6,99 are available from http://www.monteverdi.tv/royal-concertgebouw-orchestra/matinee.php
